Jiang Cheng is a man of honor in all things but this.
His fingers tense around the bamboo pole, and he balances easily on his toes. Wei Ying hasn’t acknowledged him, instead making eyes at Lan Wangji. Which is fine. Jiang Cheng learned to use an opponent’s weaknesses to his advantage.
Yanli calls for their attention, and Wei Ying finally turns. He flashes a reckless grin, and, on Yanli’s signal, attacks. Jiang Cheng parries, then strikes, sending spiritual energy out along the pole, just enough to unbalance Wei Ying and send him flying off the log and into the lake.
