Finally some tall Damian, sometimes I think comic artist don't care about accuracy, because even with his metal spine his parents are tall, at the age he is now at the comics he should be taller and sometimes he just look like a 12 yo kid
I'm not a doctor so this could be totally wrong, but based on research I've done on prosthetics (unrelated to this fanfic, but it did inspire me to write it), I feel like what happened shouldn't stop his growth that much. I mean, his body around the spine will continue to grow and change. In fact, leg and arm bones grow the most over a lifetime, and are the ones that contribute most to height gain during puberty. The spine also reaches about half its final length around the age of five, so while he may miss a major growth spurt during his teen years, he's not completely inhibited. If anything, I would think the bigger issue would be the surgeries required to repair and replace the parts that are being stretched as he grows.
Also, if I recall correctly, I'm pretty sure it's not his entire spine. He was paralyzed from the waist down, and she did remove his spine, but the bones were mostly put back into place. We have to remember that Talia has access to some of the best tech in the world and the Lazarus Pit, which can heal wounds very quickly. She did, however, place a device in the metal insert of his spine, implying he has some kind of rod or spinal cord stimulation implant. This, however, should not impede his growth too much as it would either, A, be developed to adapt for his growth, or B, would only stop it in the specific section of the vertebrae. I would imagine she must have thought this through because if she did not the strain of the rest of his body growing and his spine not doing so would not only be a major issue for Damian, but for the inserts themselves as they could be damaged under the changing pressure and the stretching of his muscles.
Again though, not a doctor, just someone who falls down a lot of internet rabbit holes and had a Dolphin Tale hyper fixation as a child that led to reading a lot about surgeries and prosthetics, so take all of this with a grain of salt. I'm also not here to diss anyone's headcanons, believe what you want, DC is always more fun when some creative liberties are taken!
