I know what you mean about stretching, old muscles and thinking your abilities to write are gone. That being said, one of my favorite things about writing, especially with something like fan fiction, is that you can create something completely for yourself and throw it out there just to find people that share that same passion for certain characters, scenarios, or pairings.
We all do this as a hobby to express ourselves and to connect with other people, even if we never speak to them. Every kudos or bookmark, even without a comment, is a connection to another person that enjoys what you've put out there.
I'm very glad you decided to post this because I've been starving for content for these two since I'm attending an early screening last Wednesday. I'm already debating on going for a second time tomorrow, and I have plans to go see it with my brother on Thursday. Haha
I'm hoping to dip my toes in the small pool that is the Ares/Eve fandom. I also question my abilities as a writer, but I know that in the end all I can do is my best and throw it out there. Somewhere I know that though I'm writing it for myself, it will probably resonate with someone. I just think back on all the times that I have found a particular story for a rare pairing or a very small fandom in general that has lifted my spirits and brightened my day.
This comment was so well-written and perfectly captured the sentiment behind my decision to write for this burgeoning fandom, which I hope takes off in a big way. You have a very healthy approach to writing, an attitude I am trying to adopt. I’ve written things for myself in the past that I now wish I had posted, solely on the chance that someone out there might have been looking for something like it. Diffidence and fear of criticism are powerful opponents.
I’m not sure what the break was for me in this case that changed that, but I’m more than happy to credit Ares/Eve for being so ripe for material, and it didn’t hurt that I was so hyped for another Tron movie.
I hope you have a fun time at any additional Tron: Ares screenings, and I look forward to seeing what else you have up your sleeve between these two. You have plenty of talent and artistry to continue doing them justice.
