This is lovely. You don't have them physically together but have captured their voices/dynamic beautifully. I absolutely loved the "No your middle name is chaos" - so funny and so something she would say! And I love the middle of the road approach to this sort of plot, as in, she doesn't come to DC/doesn't ask him to stay, but rather they're sort of in a confused middle ground trying to figure it out.
