Comment on Azur Lane Anthology: Sweetness and Shipgirls Volume 2

  1. Fandom blind. I got an easy-going sort of air from Enzo right off the bat when he’s whistling that tune, and I can easily imagine the sharp citrus scent that he picks up on where it’s an intoxicating kind of smell. Which would understandably increase his curiosity about where the letter came from and more importantly who sent it to him. I thought that was a good detail that despite the presentation of the letter and how it looks crisp and professional there are still moments in the lettering that points to how intense it was for the secret admirer to write this letter at all. Right off the bat I can feel that stated admiration falling off the letter by how the secret admirer indulges in telling Enzo about his incredible strength in all different types of avenues and that above all the way that he carries himself is admirable. I also like how it has that vulnerability that the secret admirer wonders if the little words of encouragement mean anything, if there could be something deeper there, and that she is not brave enough to reveal herself just yet. It speaks to how well that Enzo cares for his kansen and knows them that he can easily rattle off the most potential owner of this letter. Down to knowing that Alfredo would be bombastic, Trento braver, and da Vinci fancier. It gives a fuller weight to Enzo’s secret admirer that he does have this information in mind right away, his attention to detail and again, his care for his kansen. It’s sweet to see how Enzo admires Gorizia as well, that he knows he shouldn’t keep her waiting anymore if he has this confirmation that what they feel is mutual. I had a laugh at the letter that he composes for her in turn that he knows he won’t be able to keep a straight face if in person and the fact that her nervous habits have her fiddling with her clothing. Girl, be careful with that pantyhose, sometimes it feels like it tears if you just look at it for five seconds XD Enzo, you sly dude. Teasing her like that. It’s cute that Gorizia wouldn’t want to do anything that disappoint him, and how she composes herself too that if you didn’t know her like how Enzo does that you’d think nothing was wrong. Even still that when he gives up the ruse and admits the real reason why she is here, it’s interesting to see those emotions simmering under her professional mask and indeed it’s endearing that Enzo finds it difficult to talk as well for a few moments. But he did it, he said it! Nice! I also like how his honesty pours out so gently, that he won’t force her to speak any further about it if she’s not comfortable, but it’s because of him and his presence that she can speak of her true feelings. The fact that they can be so vulnerable with each other put a smile on my face alongside that they know this will be a new avenue to sail together. But with everything out in the open, seems like they’ll be just fine. I enjoyed it!

    1. Thanks Gorizia is very much a princess type personality, one that wants attention of her commander, but doesn't want to be direct about it which creates fun situations to write for her. ^_^
