      Thanks for reading! Yeah, I love incorporating the past into the fics. At its core, one of the themes of Steven Universe is about finding out your parents are "human." They are people with a past and a life before you existed. They made mistakes. They may have fallen in love with other people who are not your dad/mom. The older you get, the more you realize your parent is not perfect. They have baggage and they dont have all the answers. But that's okay.
