I don't think it's a secret that the Gormogon plot arc is the one that fascinates me most in the entire show - and it's not just trying to reconstruct an storyline for Zack that makes sense. There's just stuff plucked from everywhere and I can't find anywhere else that references anything they mention in show; artistic license is one thing, but what's the point giving it an actual historical name if all your information is made up. (meanwhile, I remain genuinely curious about those gormogon medals, because while I've seen places that cite their existence I can't actually find a picture - or I'd have ended up bringing them in in a big way.) I imagine they do have better access to places, as well as teams of dedicated researchers (research has never been my strong point.) I think I'm just spoiled by knowing writers who post extensive notes about their work. (currently reading through Kieron Gillen's extended notes on TWATD #1 and oh what I'd give for other people to talk about their work like that.)
Oh ta, you are a darling. (god, I've been on that website a thousand times. Either the pictures are new or I wiped them from my mind. I'd like to think it's the former.) And argh, it's in the British Museum. I don't suppose I could convince them to let me have a closer look at it for fanfiction purposes, unfortunately, but next time I'm in the vicinity I might have to try and hunt it down. (oh yeah, the other constant curiosity - the gormogons being british. Seriously, I want to find the person responsible for this plot arc and ask them quite seriously what they were thinking.)
