No no, see in this fic, Sans is quite a bit above most people. There might be one or two octillionaires, but he's the only decillionaire. I made that work by having Gaster Industries be an organization with multiple genres to it. There the engineering and whatnot, but there's also entertainment. However, a new category will be revealed eventually, but I won't say anymore about that since it's an idea I might not use.
This world is exactly like ours in status; there's upper, middle, and lower class. But while a homeless man is at the bottom, Sans is at the top. This is also a story poking fun at humanity for being, for a lack of a better term, kinda shitty. I do that a lot in fics because it's easy to. Basically, Sans surpassed everyone in under six years because he's just that amazing - and he's a monster, so what does that say about the rest of humanity? It says quite a bit if you ask me. >;3
ooo! i have another question! is there space travel in this fic's universe? because currency of any type needs to be backed by some kind of valuable, tangible substance in order for the currency to have value. in the united states, it used to be backed by gold. it isnt now, which is why the us dollar has lost a lot of value compared to other currencies. and its why you can buy a souvenir 50 trillion zimbabwe unc note bill for less than a hundred us dollars. because zimbabwe unc notes arent backed by anthing and are essentially worthless.
which is why i ask if there's a lot of space travel in your universe. because in order for the world to even have 1 decillion of any currency (or even 1 octillion, for that matter) and also have it have any value, it would take more than all the precious metals and gems in the entire world (and that includes all the precious metals and gemstones that havent been mined out of the earth yet) added together to back it. so maybe they have been able to mine other planets for resources that make up the difference?
(im sorry if it sounds like im trying to argue with how youre writing your own fic. im just trying to make it make sense in my head. 1 decillion is a mind boggling number and my mind is definitely boggled here)
Stuff like that is up to the reader. Since none of that is part of this fic, if you want that to be a thing, go for it. It could even be how Sans got rich so fast. His shortcuts through the void. No one else has that skill so why not?
Whatever the case, that’s for you to decide. Since the money issue is only a plot point for the purpose of making Sans ‘popular’ and whatnot, I don’t really care about anything else.
