Yeah it is hehe. I figured it was clearer to tell the difference between the flashbacks and the present, especially if the reader looked away from the page or came back to it or something they wouldn't have to scroll back up each time to see what time period they were in. There were just so many. But I do completely get your point, and I may experiment with that on a draft and see how it looks then update it if I like it. (Also I was transferring this from fanfiction.net and they don't have all the fancy cool stuff they do here ;) ) Thank you for the help, I definitely always appreciate advice from readers, I'm still quite at writing.
Italicized text can be headache-inducing in too great a quantity. Use it for showing emotion if you can. The blockquote command offsets the text so it's indented, thus making it stand out.
I've written flashbacks without using too much italicization, but I have used a header to indicate the change or even changed the color of my text if that helps move the story along.
Oh crap, I didn't even realize that. Thanks, I definitely need to change it now. I will definitely try the blockquote command (and/or color, but not dizzying color lol). Thank you thank you thank you.
