This was great, absolutely terrific. The characters are dead-on. This is how it would play out, in the scenario where Voldemort knows about Harry in time to act.
I love this line, you capture Voldemort perfectly with it: "Yes, Potter. Now if you are done feeling sentimental?" Sarcastic, bored, assumes that since this is all just business, Harry should get out of his sulk now, so they can get on with it... And in the end, Voldemort telling Harry "It's fortunate." The effect of that line: MgGonagall was the last connection to the outside world that Harry had, and now he'll probably be cut off forever. Thank you for this great piece. I would love to read a sequel - but I don't think their status quo will change soon. Unless somewhere far off in the future, Voldemort is captured, and Harry (perhaps even much later) is found: would be fun to read.
By the way in my own fic (Keep Your Enemies Closer) Harry is also kept under the Draught of Living Death! But the horcrux inside gets bored and disrupts things... :).
I was wondering: do you know of other gen HP/LV stories which are in character and which you can recommend? I'm forever looking for those!
