Maybe it's because my cousin's baby has just started talking up a storm but Chapter Three has just struck my fancy lately. I don't know why but it just calls up a vision of Imrahil telling an adult Farmir to "use your words," during one of Faramir's silent suffering grief phases. To my mind, having been the one to force Faramir to speak in the first place, this just seems like something Imrahil would say when Faramir isn't communicating well, I guess... I don't know it's just a weird image I got from this story. Desperate Hours is such rich, detailed universe that even little bits of stories like this evoke emotions and lead into bigger plots or reveal cool little facets of the characters. Anyway, I like Chapter Three. I like that it was Imrahil that got Faramir to start talking and that they have that as part of their familial bond. I also like hearing about Aragorn's quest to find out more about his older son's past.
Thank you, Firstar! I've gone through those phases with my son and they really do add a lot of humor and depth to what I'm able to write about, I think. I like the idea of an adult Imrahil telling Faramir to use his words. I'll work that in if I can. Thank you so much for your praise - I try to write an AU that is very rich in details and very alive, and it means so much to me to hear that someone thinks I am succeeding. Apologies for my late and slightly incoherent feedback, I'm a bit tired.
