I'm so happy you enjoyed it because it's always tricky to make an AU work, and perhaps people won't find what they liked the most about this pairing in the original canon setting. Ok I kept Agron being a big idiot whose mouth goes faster than his brain and that's what we love about him after all.
The journalism detail was inspired by a woman I met last year, a Syrian refugee, whose brother had a journalism degree in Syria and was only offered low qualifications jobs like gardener or working with trash here in France, as if his degree was not worth a French degree. It's a reality and I found interesting how, when we watch the show and hear "Syrian" we first think about Ashur "the fucking Syrian", while in our modern every day lives, especially in Europe, when we hear Syrian we think about people fleeing from war. That was an interesting parallel, especially for Nasir.
