Yeah I think it comes down to whether Makoto's POV is enough of a change or if it just feels like you've seen it all before... and if you like really, really slow burn.
One of the nice things about fan fiction and sites like these is that you can revise. I figure it's fine as long as it doesn't change so much that the people who like it enough to re-read feel that something is lost. At that point it makes sense to start a second version.
