This was lovely, sweet and melancholy and with the sex-pollen version of that much-beneath-the-surface that makes Persuasion so special. I hope for a happy resolution here too for Anne and her captain, perhaps (more) speedily, what with Mrs. Croft (and the Admiral) being gained as an ally already. :)
gentlenonnie, that is the most wonderful icon. I am persuaded that should Hokusai have ever viewed the (a?) Gojira, this is exactly the famous print which would ensue. It's great!
On a different topic, although perhaps a similar meld of modern and traditional, it's really good to know that you enjoyed this version of sex pollen as viewed from Persuasion. It was so much fun to pick on LeidIolette's prompt, and I have to admit I did love the suggestion of a bittersweet ending. However, no version of Persuasion I could write would end in any way other than Anne and Frederick sailing into the sunset, eventually, and so it is with these two afflicted lovers!
Glad you enjoyed this story. Thank you for saying so.
