    I throw in esoteric music references too. Usually ones that define the story if you catch them... but that's mostly in honor of RDA adlibbing a Bryan Adams lyric in Divide and Concour. Because the song explains his feelings more than just "I love her" would have. And it made me wonder... Is jack the kind of guy that would make a mixed tape because it expressed his feelings better than his own words could.

    And that answer was of course... yes. Jack is totally the guy that would make a mix tape. 100%

          And he'd be shrugging it off as if it wasn't his heart on a plate, but Sam would see through it when she listened to it.

          He IS a hopeless romantic, a classical one. He's just guarded because his heart has been really broken with what he thought was going to be his forever. Sara and Charlie was his forever, he was old enough at the time that he thought it was his only shot and he loved them with all of him. Think about it within 2 years he lost his son and his wife.

          And then he fell for Sam...

            Worse he started falling for her before the ink was dry on his divorce which is why he fought it so hard. If he hadn't been convinced he was still in love with Sara he would have done something about his feelings for Sam in a reasonable time frame.

                Yup. he went from telling himself it was just flirting with his cute coworker to realizing he can't live without her at all and he never saw it coming. And I bet that little 'we don't talk about this' conversation involved some VERY through relieved kissing and hugging if not more. Just like they were fighting after Daniel ascended until they almost drowned together and suddenly they both realized they weren't happy being angry at each other and made up.
