*snorts* How hard indeed. Bucky, you have no idea. Sure, some of it will be easy since Bucky and Steve are super soldiers but a lot of it, especially at first will be extremely difficult. After all, there is a reason hunters don't have a long life expectancy and its not just because the fuglies will follow them home.
Admittedly it took me a while to orient my brain to this being post Hell Dean from six years ago, though I still see him kicking ass like he has in Season 10 (some of those fights were just awesome, especially since Dean wasn't holding back anymore because he was afraid of himself and what he could do, especially post Hell where he is now)
Did find Dean's shy behavior and blurted out comment about them being old enough to be his grandfather a bit out of character. Dean is a snark master, but he also gives it straight when it comes to hunting and the crap that comes with it unless he is trying to shield someone from it. Even then, he has never sugarcoated it. I don't see him commenting like that at this point (when he was training them would have made more sense). I admit I'm also surprised by how...submissive Dean seems. He may be in pieces mentally and emotionally, but he has rarely backed down so much as to not look someone in the eye when he gives 'the talk' about the supernatural. Sure, some of it could be attributed to his PTSD at this point, but even then, looking back on that season, Dean wasn't exactly submissive so much as withdrawn. And there is a difference because Dean was still taking charge and leading, though with reluctance and lack of trust in his judgement and indeed Sam's by mid-season. But Dean still took point, still put down his foot when Sam went too far...though the angelic 'break' allowed him the distance he needed to put himself back together after the whole Alastair debacle...
And while he fanboys (because Dean had no childhood and raised his brother and was a man far earlier than even Steve and Bucky would have been in their day) he always gets down to business. There is a reason, after all, why most supernatural creatures fear/respect/target him first because going after Sam tends to backfire. Spectacularly. He'll be an excellent teacher for the super soldiers once he settles into it. He taught Sam, after all and certainly taught himself a great deal too over the years, with input from other hunters including Bobby and Rufus in the research field.
Okay, rambling done. :)
In a nutshell, this is intriguing character interactions and I'm curious to read how well the training goes.
I'm insanely flattered. This really just started as (and still is) a gift and didn't mean to expand, but you're taking notice of this and giving me advice omg
So, admittedly, I have no idea what I'm doing because I'm writing a crossover when I've not written for any kind of movie/t.v. show ever because the concept of writing characters played by real people always intimidated me. I'm very grateful for your input about Dean's character because he's not interacting with anyone from canon which is my first problem, and they're virtually still strangers yet are persistent in becoming his friends which I'm not sure how he would handle post-hell/season 4. I have canon scenes that are planned to come up soon and so I'd like to develop a more stable dynamic between the three of them before Castiel and Uriel or Sam come barging in if that makes any sense.
Anyway, more snark, more withdrawn. I'll try to reflect that in the future chapters. Thank you for taking the time to review!
