Excuse me? As delightful as this is, isn't there one reveal still missing?
I might have missed something since I was interrupted multiple times while reading this, but to my understanding only half the knights know about Merlin's magic (or the scope of it) and Arthur certainly doesn't!
Now imagine Arthur setting up a little tournament for his knights to decide on his new court sorcerer and Merlin just casually strolling onto the field. Lancelot and Percival practically flee from him because one knows how f***ing powerful he is and the other has seen a glimps last night. And then Arthur get's the sight of his scrawny manservant extravagantly kicking the butts of all his knights (and possible other contestants).
I'd be eternally grateful, if you made that happen! x'D
It sounds like you have the idea for the sequel all planned out! If you (or anyone else) wanted to write that, that'd be amazing! I don't think I'm going to do so myself, because I don't really enjoy writing Merlin and Arthur focussed stories and prefer to focus my writing on more rare pairing, characters, and scenarios than Arthur finds out about Merlin's magic, which a TON of other authors have already written in various ways.
Well too bad. But you are right of course. There's tons upon tons of Merlin reveal fics already out there. (My own included ^^'') So I understand, if want to stay true to your original idea.
However... That doesn't change the fact that I have my little head canon about your fic though, so who knows? Maybe one day I will take you up on that offer. xD
