    AWWW. You ask really good questions and after all this time, I don't really know what the respective differences are between Edmund and Susan's roles, or those of the Murder vs the Mischief. I suspect the Rats are engaged in the more active spreading of rumors and whispers because I assume that they "talk" in ways that sound more human? But I don't really know? I see Sallowpad as providing strategic advice and that the Crows, as seen often, are significant intelligence gatherers. There's a whole thing in Calormen -- repeated among the House of Stanleh Lone Islands Bankers -- by the middle of the GA to " 'ware the black birds from the North" because they are surely Narnian spies. This is something to ponder.... and I did promise you a story at some point...

    And yes, I just dump things in -- over and over -- the Hell Bitch -- who first appeared in By Royal Decree but is also what Edmund calls Ursula, a mare that is in the barn at Russell House. The directionally challenged Llamas, Shadow and Fax (Shadowfax, ahem) were completely inspired, as was The Dress and the stolen dress of Lupita N'yongo, completely taken from the happy days of solidarity on the Internet.

    This is a silly story but I did have fun with it. Susan's own relationship with Willa and Lambert -- it's interesting because while I'd done a lot with Lambert and plenty with Edmund and Willa, we'd not seen Willa and Susan though Susan is so strongly identified with the Rats. So this was the opportunity to build that out a little.

      "This is something to ponder.... and I did promise you a story at some point..." - Just responding to this, if you are thinking about writing a story about this instead of what I suggested before I would also completely adore this and would not mind at all! The other idea is also still amazing, so if you would rather write about that I would also be a 100% happy, but just lettting you know :)
