Comment on i know the end (the end is here)

  1. This is some absurdly detailed information. I am so impressed that you know all this stuff. I know it's like, what you do for a living, but still.

I guess that, me living in Brazil, a country almost three times the size of Europe (I always think of Westeros as the American continent, like, the whole of it), I'm always very frustrated with the timelines in GoT, but with that data that you just brought us, I guess you are right. LOL perhaps the distances are not *that* great, after all.

    1. Haha, thank you so much! And what a different perspective! But that’s the beauty of such fiction, I guess, we can read it with different interpretation ideas.
I must say though that I love all the visual ancient-medieval-early modern European references they’ve put in the show (or even 19th c. ones, like Neuschwanstein for Eyrie), and it is hard not to identify places according to them (like: Oldtown is Alexandria and Braavos is Rhodes, hehe). But that’s my twisted approach, I guess? 🤓

      1. Haha I guess *my* approach is twisted, not yours, since there was no such thing as ~medieval times~ in the American continent :P I've been in Neuschwanstein (I remember it well, because it was the first time in my life that I saw snow and I was so happy) and it really looks like the Eyrie!! It is so nice trying to spot these similarities to real places and real events in ASOIAF :) GRRM is a really smart guy.
