Oof this was a rough one. It instilled all sorts of complicated feelings in me, and it really comes through with how raw and emotional these two are. Optimus really seems like he believes he’s “perfect” and the fact he’s gone and done something so reprehensible means he’s tarnished that. Megatron has pushed and pushed and pushed until he finally got Optimus to lose control, but it ended up much different than he ever thought.
Thanks a bunch! These two are so emotional yet chose to keep those feelings hidden behind very different guises. With how much Megatron antagonizes Optimus, there are so many ways things could happen differently. While I do like gentle giant op as much as the next person, he always seemed like he was holding some harsh emotional anguish within him and never really interacted with his team in a deep way, reacting to the only person he ever felt feelings for in a violent, but unpredictable way. I'll admit, it was a tad difficult to write because I just want everyone to hug it out and be friends, but I think I struck a compromise in both a non-lethal, yet still pretty gruesome premise. Thanks again, I might write more about this storyline but I'm still not sure 😌
