    Not gonna lie I had no idea what I was getting into when I clicked this. At first I thought it was a troll fic then I realized it was for real and...honestly? It's not the first time I read long fics of rare ships, idk what power do you guys have but authors that make works of rare ships make such good stuff??? So I was interested to check this out despite not knowing the reason for this ship to exist

    tho the obvious answer is Hilda has a lot of good characters, all kind of interesting interactions can come from that if one just starts making random pairs. This one worked really well I must say, even removing the future romance I just can imagine these two getting along the same as in this fic in canon, can't wait to see them playing poker bc that just sounds like something they would dl and I feel there's gonna be an important plot point in that lil game

    Everything is pretty much in character too. I find interesting the exploration of how the spirits changed some habits due to being around humans now, it's like with animals irl learning and adapting to how we act, it's a good arc for Wood man and nice way to see more of the delicious Hilda lore. I like how you show the subtle interest the bell keeper has in the spirits too, just one ep already gave a good base to write the guy and you did it perfectly! He's adorable tbh I love him

    Also side note but I instantly recogised your pfp and checked and yep! You were the one of the Klaus fics XD nice to cross paths again, I like how you write, you are very good at writing nice calm atmospheres and that showed in this fic too. Each chapter just feels really domestic and gives me the same vibe of returning home after a long day and just lying down to relax with a good book and tea knowing no one's gonna bother you

    So again, I didn't even think of this pairing, I could've wondered how romance would even happen and here you are making it work. Can't wait to see more of this story! Deffo bookmarking this :D

      I kept coming back to this comment to preen delightedly at your lovely compliments, and it was only after like, a day or two of doing this that I realized our pfps are Black Hat and 505. I don't know what to do with this information but it pleases and amuses me greatly.

Unfortunately, god has cursed me for my hubris and my work is never finished, so i am INCAPABLE of making romance without several overarching narrative threads and ongoing character arcs.       I'm incensed we don't have a name for the bell keeper, but guess what, Wood Man wouldn't care and neither do I! And I do feel confident I can characterize him well enough to get this thing off the ground, so it's nice to have my confidence corroborated in your estimation of my characterization of him :')
