  1. I thought John would mess the job, but in the end was only the misfortune to meet Connor O'Driscoll to be the cause.
And the poor boy was so preoccupied about Arthur after he was shot. Someone could argue he could stay away from the stage coach after doing his part, but I really can't fault him about being spotted by the O'Driscolls. The only at fault is Connor because didn't wait an explanation, he wanted only to kill.
I liked very much Annabelle in this chapter. She was a master to explain to Dutch the similitudes between Miller's philosophy and his relationship with Arthur. But I think Dutch is too much arrogant and stuck up to accept this perception of himself.
Isaac is always a sweetheart and in the last part broke my hearth when he begged Arthur not to die in the near future.
Thank you for the update, I can't wait to read more from you.

    1. Dutch always did take Miller too literally. When you meet Miller in the game, it's clear he's an academic writing about things he's never truly experienced. Miller may have written an idealized way of living, but reality is a bitch and doesnt afford everyone those opportunities. Annabelle looks more at the whole picture and acknowledges the viewpoint of the author whereas Dutch believes Miller has stumbled upon a universal truth.

But back to the O'Driscolls, I definitely set this up as John being the reason things went wrong and then surprise! Connor O'Driscoll shows up! I always imagined that Colm's brother's death to be sudden and unexpected. Dutch never planned on shooting Connor, which is how he could bring himself to apologize during Blessed are the Peacemakers. Colm though... well he's going to be mad.

Arthur getting hurt and Isaac finding out is not good for Isaac's mental wellbeing. I feel like I need to write in a therapist, but I don't think psychology was a well studied field back then.
