    Aw, this was absolutely adorable! I particularly liked the description of Shuu's mirror that he uses based on Papa telling him he can see his Mama in it.

    1. Thank you!! :'3 yeah, that detail was one that really stood out to me in Mirumo's journal. I think it's a really important detail to his character, especially in how he told Chie about the time he looked in the mirror all day (which I assume he probably does more than once). He's always reminded me of Shakespeare's Iago in the way he never quite truly lies, and just manipulates the truth so that it sounds like something else, whether it is in fact manipulation or to make himself distant from others. So anyways, I thought he would want a special mirror to honor her without really acknowledging what he was doing. sorry I went off on a tangent ^^;;

        Ah, no, don't apologise! I absolutely love the Iago parallel and I think you're spot on with the observation of not quite lies and distance. The mirror scene from Mirumo's diary definitely explains that comment to Chie; it sounds really self-aggrandising until the context is known. Then it's just sort of tragic.

        1. Yes, it definitely explains where his vanity comes at least in part from. It does make it heartbreaking that his mother is the main motivation.. ;-; I think that just adds another layer to him.
