Honestly, I am shocked by how much I am enjoying this fic; I follow the Adam Sackler/Reader tag but they usually aren't quite so remarkable as this one is. Adam is a very hard character to write convincingly -- I feel like many people make him too sweet, too nice, too generic. Adam is troubled and likely mentally ill. He is unpredictable and volatile and sometimes cruel. You strike such a perfect balance between his loyal, charismatic exuberance and all of the hard, gritty things that make him so intriguing. You don't shy away from the really tough and unpleasant stuff between these two characters and your story is all the more profound for it. I am so glad I stumbled on this and I can't wait for you to continue! Thank you so much for sharing.
OMG!! thank you so so so much for this supportive message. It means so much to me. I try my best to convey Adam the way I see him. I agree, a lot of people tend to make him just a quirky, friendly guy— and sometimes I wonder if those people watched the same show as me, because there are plenty of instances in which he has supported the idea that he’s HEAVILY mentally ill. Between the whole “stalking Hannah” ordeal and the explosive fight with Jessa, upon many other things, he has serious issues, and I wanted to shed the light on that.
