Thank you so much! There is a next chapter two-thirds finished, so there will be more. There is also more on this subject of Elrond's heritage, which has taken over the story a bit, I'm afraid.
I've always been fascinated by the way Tolkien made Elrond a symbol of unity by his parentage and Imladris a kind of haven for all. But considering the history of the various Elven kinds and factions I would think that didn't all just happen because parents - it would've been earned. I imagine the same goes for a kingship at this point. It's literally a new era.
I owe a great deal to writers in the fandom who explored these things waaaay back when, like Elwing, Maybe and AC. Most of these stories unfortunately never made it to AO3.
