    1. Thank you for the link! I am super psyched to listen to it! And here is the link to the playlist I made: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0fYp3Hn4xpGFKxANSQsxQr?si=MKFWJSLHSu2am7PMbL5iIA
I tried to keep only the songs made before 1996! Sidetone: honorable mention goes to Betty Hutton's "He's a Demon, He's a Devil, He's a Doll" despite not being on the playlist due to Spotify license-ship.

      1. FUCK YEAH BETTY HUTTON OMG. I love that song smmm. And mine is kind of late 40s-2010s, because I was more going for vibes than period accuracy if that makes sense. But I am so excited. I'm downloading this right now, dude.

        1. That totally makes sense! What a stellar playlist you made by the way! 10/10 been listening to it on my way to and from work :) sidenote: after listening to your playlist, I am convinced Lana Del Rey would have been real successful in 70's with her voice and vibes overall~ I am super thrilled to hear you liked the playlist I made!! I am more than down if you ever wanna talk song choices or fic

          1. Omg I loved your playlist, and I'm glad you liked mine! And I totally agree with what you said about Lana Del Rey doing well in the 70s. She has a sort of timeless melancholy in her music that fits so many eras of the 20th century that it's a marvel she wasn't born forty years prior or something. She's a kind of messy, problematic person, but she makes good music. And yea, that sounds like fun. I must warn you, though, my music taste is *very* varied lol

            1. Come onnnn, what’s the point of the 21st century if you can’t have an eclectic music library? But your right on the money by describing Lana Del Rey’s sound as timeless melancholy. Catch me listening to 13 beaches and crying lol. Also catch me crying when you said Eren only had a month or so left in timeline!!! So many fears, so many tears.

              1. Omg, prepare for *even more* stress. And frrr like, Lana Del Rey is the guiltiest pleasure that this literal smut writer has.

                1. *Cries* Ok ok, may I ask a fic related question?

                    1. Awesome! First question: what’s your three favorite tracks off your playlist and how come?? Second question: will the story ever touch on Eren dropping out of high school or his “suicide fueled Percocet addiction”?

Suicide/suicidal ideation, loss, and anger are common themes in the story (or at least I think they are?). We see a that with Petra on the cliff side and Levi’s epiphany about death and the loss of his uncle (which was beautifully written btw).

This is only conjecture, but it sounds like Eren went through some similar experiences. The death of his parents leaving him feeling lost and unsure about his future, to the point where he couldn’t see living past twenty. I feel like Eren can understand Levi’s experiences/pain if only just a little bit. And then of course, I think it’s on the drive back from the cliff side?? Where Eren tells Levi he doesn’t have to have his whole life figured out at seventeen, that even twenty-somethings aren’t all put together either (which ouch, my heart, but also ain’t that the truth).

P.S. I know I said it before, but holy shit that playlist is fantastic. I currently have black Madonna and California stuck in my head <3

                      1. Okay to answer your first question, my favorite songs from the playlist are "Apocalypse" by Cigarettes After Sex, because it just kind of encapsulates the quiet tragedy of the situation they're in. In the best case scenario, Levi still has to wait almost thirty years to see Eren again, and that really sad guitar really holds that feeling throughout the song.

Then I also love "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zepplin, because I just loved writing that part where Eren and Petra are dancing to that song, but Eren is literally just making eyes at Levi the whole time.

There are tons more, but those are two of my most favorite. Some honorable mentions are "California" by Lana (Obvs), "Sway" by Dean Martin, "500 Miles" and "Blowing in the Wind" by Peter, Paul, and Mary.

And all I'll say about Eren's dropping out and drug issues, is, yes, they will be addressed in the future.

And then, finally, yes, I completely agree with you. Eren and Levi are psychologically far more similar than even Eren realizes (or is willing to admit to in his narrative) at most points.

                        1. Gonna have to say to Eren that staring into someone else’s eyes that isn’t your dance partner for a whole song, is pretty gay.

Thank you for answering!! Its delightful and fun being able to hear your thoughts on both lyrics as well as the story :)

                          1. Ya, pretty gay, indeed. And thanks so much for chatting! I've had lots of fun answering your questions and listening to your playlist.

            2. I think I am very funny for putting Elvis Presley’s “Stuck on You” on the playlist, the whole vibe fits with Eren always being around Levi like a thorn in his side, but also the lyrics/imagery of “Gonna run my fingers through your long black hair” had me chortling.

        1. Hi! I hope this message finds your well :) I am still loving your playlist. I definitely have a deeper appreciation for Lana Del Rey because of it~ I was wondering if you wanted to exchange playlists again? I curated a new playlist largely inspired by Transtempus again

          1. Hey, yeah I'm keepin' on keepin' on. Lana has literally always been my guilty pleasure music. It's really good for writing tho. I would love to see your new playlist, by the way.

            1. Lana has a way of making you feel nostalgic over things you might never have experienced or felt, and fills you with a sense of melancholy and longing. And I just updated the same playlist! I may or may not have a Faye Webster agenda, she’s more folksy than Lana Del Rey but has similar melancholy/longing vibes.
