Thank you <3 It’s a pet theory of mine that Sheba and Lann were friends growing up. And, well, Sheba relishes theatre. She is vindictive, but in a way that is a little too bitter for a realist. She reads pretty strongly to me as someone who’s been burned by losing some specific part of herself.
I think Shaaran is one of the few people who could give her a talking-to and get away with it.
Ooh, I love these headcanons you have for Sheba! It's easy to see how her long isolation from everyone else would turn a quiet child bitter and angry- I've seen it in action in real life myself.
Thank you! And absolutely - I think you need more than a little idealism to be so badly burnt and lash out at others. People like that often internalise everyone else's treatment of them (and their anger at the perceived unfairness of the world), to, in Sheba's case, disastrous effect. She constantly makes reference to her own fish-out-of-water status. Younger Sheba must have decided that that cut both ways. Rin - that is, Rowan's Rin - is so insular that she must have felt she had no escape.
Shaaran, at least in my headcanon, has been inured against some of that dangerous idealism by using her powers to combat real injustice from a young age. Still trapped, but doing something about it, and valued by Thierry and Norris.
