  1. I stopped watching the show around the time Negan appeared. I just couldn't watch another character I like die. And then they killed off not one but two and others and I was just like wtf? And then I heard about Carl and his letters. I was so disappointed. I mean, the fuck. They just wanted to give Rick more trauma or what? Ugh. Now I'm just sad. And don't even know if I want to see what they came up with for the finale.

    1. I stopped watching after Daryl broke out of the Sanctuary and met back up with Rick, then learned about everything else by reading. I don't really like TV shows or movies, I'd much rather play video games or read, I started watching it during 2020 to waste time and find something else to read, so I just ended up loosing intrest in watching more. And Glenn died, I really liked Glenn lol. I thought Carl's letters were really weird. He didn't like Negan, right? I mean he killed some of his family members and really hurt others! I thought it was out of character but then again I didn't watch that far. 🤷 Poor Rick though, very, very poor Rick. I'm also worried about the end.

There was also little things that made me confused. Like why did Daryl never show to be sad for more than two seconds after the two times Merle died? Why did Rick and Shane basically never talk unless they were fighting, even at the start? Why was Jacqui, Jim, Otis, Dale, Amy, Andrea, those fifteen other people I always fucking forget about at the Quarry, Beth's original boyfriend (whatever his name was), Patricia, the Morales family, Sophia, and all the others not ever developed? Why was The Lost Winter skipped, that would have been good for world building and a break from just action, action, action, action? Why was that self-harm scene with Daryl after Beth died never talked about again (you don't do that with sensitive topics like that, it was put in there for practically no reason)? Why was that scene where Shane nearly raped Lori never talked about again? Why the fuck did the Jesse thing have to happen that was so out of character and I hate it so much just please never again-
That's not even all of the problems I have! Also, sorry for any spelling errors, I'm typing on my phone. :)

It makes my corneas water watching this stuff when I have to refresh my memory for my own fics. Like ugh, it was just so bleh. But also I really like the characters and (some of) their dynamics. The setting's fun too, and some of the conflicts and moments of downtime. It's such a great show in some parts but just horrible in others!

      1. You're sooo right. They had such a great opportunity, but they just blew it. How did it even happen? And the actions of some characters do not fit at all with their beliefs, experience and morals. I wonder what happened in comics.

And the Jesse thing - yes! I was watching that episode like ??? Dude, the fuck are you doing? Did you hit your head in that ambar or something?

I also don't get Shane's sudden obsession with Lori. She was a right bitch half of the time and crying mess the other half. And she tried to put all the blame on him, like it doesn't take two to cheat! Ugh. I really don't like her.

And also, why does every second character have a massive nervous breakdown? And not just hysteria or apathy, no, but a complete phase shift with hallucinations and personality change. Shane, Morgan, Rick, the Governor and so on. Why? I mean, it's kinda understandable - it's the end of the world, their loved ones died before them and so on. But Rick and Shane are cops they had to undergo all sorts of psychological examinations. Surely someone would have noticed something? It couldn't all have come from nowhere, right? And it would have been fine if they pulled it only on Morgan. He was all alone, without support and surrounded by walkers. But nooooo. Why?

Meh, alright. It just means we have more room to maneuver. Just yesterday I came up with an idea for AU where Rick and Merle served together, and Merle practically accepted Rick into the family as a younger brother, because he missed Daryl and Rick acted a little similar. And nothing really stops me from writing it, except my poor time management. :-/

        1. Yeah! What the hell was that obsession Shane had?! I completely forgot that! It was super sudden, had like zero lead up and Shane was just like "I want ur wife n son had em over I am now you." The sheer amount of hallucinating was definitely weird. I mean the first time we saw it we were watching Daryl talk to an imaginary Merle which was like fine, he was losing a lot of blood from being stabbed with a bolt so it wasn't like insanity hallucinations but then it was like the writers got obsessed with hallucinating and went for it. Lori could have made a good comeback, which she was kind of doing, but then she just died and stayed as this stereotypical, bitchy cheater. She could have been an interesting and complex character.

All shows and things will have errors and plot holes but some of them were so simple to fix that it just made the writers look like they had no clue what they were doing. There were so many potential cool things they could have done or explored but like just didn't? Norman said in an interview once that there was a lot of "chest bumping" early on which I think is the perfect word. Just a ton of action and guns and dying with petty drama and no room for actual development lol
