We did! Though not quite in the same camera shot as the Gathering.
John Sheridan actually used it several times, along with the other ambassadors, to either relax, waste time, or have conversations with one another.
Though the funniest part was how most of the time, when we visited that garden, we got treated to valuable bits of knowledge and wisdom. "My shoes are too tight, but that does not matter, for I have forgotten how to dance." is but one quote out of many I could name and it was said by Londo of all people! Though I don't think he realized that he was meditating on his thoughts while in the zen garden. 😆🤣

I supposed it goes to show that Sinclair's gift was truly invaluable for many people, long after he was gone.

    1. You'd think I would have remembered that, because I re-watched the whole series - for the umpteenth time - last year, and that scene with Londo is one of my favourites. He learned something important that day, realising how trapped he felt in his own life.

Out of every SF TV show I've ever watched, it's B5 that has stuck with me the most over the years. I can quote whole scenes along with the characters as I watch.

Sinclair was a lasting presence on B5 through his gift, as well as through the impact he had on various other characters, and through the lessons he taught as Valen back in the past. I think that interweaving of characters and the effects they have on each other through often seemingly minor interactions is one of the many strengths of the series.

        It's alright.
I discover something new on every re-watch. We cannot expect to remember it all.

B5 can really be insightful. It doesn't show a perfect world with perfect people still having to solve problems nor does it go totally darkside by saying everything and everyone is evil in a world beyond saving. It's filled with good and bad people who make mistakes, yet still have the chance to make up for them as the character is alive. (Delenn and Londo are the most obvious) It is a show that tells us to do something in the face of evil, even if it is sitting down in the zen garden to reflect and realize that evil exists.

I will say with Sinclair, he is a man lost to time, but not truly gone. I suppose Ga'Kar was right. Some piece of us would always remain on Babylon 5. giving strength to anyone who pauses to listen.

        1. Yes, so true. All the characters have journeys, they all have choices to make. Sometimes they make the right choice, sometimes they don't, and none of them is perfect, but even the worst have chances to redeem themselves. It's a show that makes you think.

Sinclair's influence stretched across a thousand years. That's quite a legacy.
