    and I really am so happy you were excited for this one and that you remembered I updated it for Valentine's Day last year lmfaoo. literally nothing says romance like grump old men <33

    They're just so different but so good together!! And you know pattern-people breaking their patterns for someone means something, so it's always fun to play with that. Dmytro's mom will be DELIGHTED when she hears Dmytro is dating Joe tbh. I headcannon her as a very stour 'my ancestors died of starvation and my body know how NOT to do that and Im damned proud of it' woman. (making dumb hcs for characters' moms and getting attached to them is my hubris tbh). Sleepy snuggly mornings and sleepy nicknames are all really good and Dmytro's just not ready to admit it yet. And I'm glad you liked the tile detail! The things a character notices says just as much about them as about the person/thing they're noticing, so I'm happy you noticed that and got a kick out of Dmyro being judgy XD

    nobody can do him it like Joe can uwu so he's forced to go find his fix with Joe because he's very thirsty indeed. Dmytro just loves and cares a lot about Seiji, okay?? And I love him carrying Seiji's bag sm like GOSH what fucking losers they both are <33 Nick 100% distracts Seiji everywhere tbh

    I'm glad you liked the dialogue and these grumpy old men <33 Joe's smile from that picture was absolutely why I had to write Dmytro metaphorically dropping his panties over his smile because it's just so handsome!!! and very few people, i think, can make Joe smile like that js

    It's about the character motivations. The way I've written Joe is emotionally detached--a man like him isn't looking for romance, he's not even looking for friendship. The only thing that could get him into a relationship is one specifically labeled as having 'no strings attached'. so fuck buddy is the only way he's getting to know somebody. Dmytro's not looking for romance or friends either because he's busy and 'above' all that nonsense, so something specifically labeled as 'no strings attached' appeals to him as well--a convenient way to get off without having to go find someone each time but also without having to deal with them between the hookups. Literally the only way these two could work as I've written them here is as fuck buddies--even if they were bicker buddies at matches, they'd never pursue friendship or romance outside of that specific circumstance with each other because it's too much bother. And I don't pretend to be an expert on allosexuals, but I've been told that dealing with things yourself just isn't as ~satisfying~ as hooking up with someone, and lots of my friends have had sex friends so I know they're definitely a pretty common thing XD I also generally prefer reading about build up more than the sex, so I'm glad that usually vibes alright with you!
