Bugging the spy, very clever use of resources. It definitely seems like something Ada or Emma would think of. I also like the three women working together (kind of). One of my biggest pet peeves in fiction is when secrets are kept "for Person x's own good," so I'm glad SwanWard are keeping Mary Margret in the know as much as they can. I love the little side quest of Operation Cobra. Kathryn/Abigail and Fredrick/Jim don't have a lot of screentime in canon, but what you wrote does feel very natural, especially with Kathryn getting bits of Abigail back. I really do like the Adagail interaction, I feel like it's a solid foundation for Ada getting friends outside of Emma's circle. And hey, I've never considered more screentime with lesser characters to be a bad thing :) The SwanWard interaction after the town meeting was great too. I really love how real you've made Ada feel. I feel like I could tell if she was acting out of character, from what you've given the readers. It's a tricky thing to do when writing, so props to you. Yes! More of Sarah Monday :) It'll bee interesting to see how this outsider looks at the town, especially with SwanWard used to their idiosyncrasies (for the most part). I also can't wait to see how she'll look at the trail of happy endings our leading ladies leave behind. I also like how you aren't punting the minor characters to the side. David's friendship with Sean was a great little detail to add. And Charming's coming back, right before Skin Deep?? This is going to be good. So Gold views Ada as his rook, eh? I can't wait to see what'll happen when their causes aren't aligned anymore. And I'm sure he won't take long to notice the bishop approaching the Queen. (Does this make Henry a king? After all, when he is "captured" the game will be over) I'm sorry you had to do the extra work, but at least something good came out of it!
Oh, I hate the keeping secrets for someone's own good thing too! Except where it actually makes sense, but it rarely ever does and is usually used purely for drama purposes. I mean, you need drama, but I think it's important for the drama to make sense and be organic. Emma's had far too many secrets kept from her in her life, she's not going to be keeping them from people she trusts.
I was not at all expecting Ada and Abigail to become friends. It totally came out of no where but I'm super pleased with it.
But thank you thank you thank you for all your kind words and your reviews because they totally make writing the story worthwhile.
