I'm just sitting here, cackling in delight over your comment haha. I was trying to hit up some classic film noir tropes and a greasy diner was basically #1 on that list along with 'lots of rain'. But with Omega not having an artificial atmosphere, I'm going to have to finagle the rain a bit, have a scene near some condensers or something.
Nyreen was SUCH a given for this fic. She's in the periphery of the first fic in the series but the connection isn't clear yet since I always intended for it to be retrospective backfill as to why Shepard had been on Omega in the first place. I am also intensely curious about who you think Tempest might be!
I'm so glad you liked the turian counting! I love how varied that sort of thing is by culture. And for the funny bits--agh I'm so happy! I feel like my writing can get a little too 'very serious business' and come off a little too dour sometimes. I'm a fundamentally ridiculous and goofy person so I've been trying to let that come through a bit more haha.
