We are glad you enjoyed this chapter, we are trying to make this story as heartwarming as we can in regards to our girls getting the happy ending they all deserve after so much. Also, we do agree that they are all massive dorks at heart and we will die on that hill lol.
As for Aegis, we were somewhat uncertain about if the idea of her rigging would work given how unusual it is, and we are glad to see people have enjoyed it. We are currently debating the rigging inspiration for the other guard members but they will be a little different as well. If you are curious as to what we have planned for one of the next Guard class, look up a Pistol Shrimp or an Archerfish.
As for just what was on the piece of paper...hmmm...how should we say it...well first we should say that there is something of an overarching plot device in the story that I have taken a somewhat unconventional angle on. There are clues to it if one is willing to look close enough at the details, well that is assuming we have done our job correctly in regards to letting a couple of details slip. I suppose I can give you a hint or two at it, in the first chapter I mentioned the Kansen, Sirens and Ashes as being present on the base during the celebration...what did group I leave out? Also, as another clue when one thinks of the term outbreak what springs to mind? After all it doesn't always mean a disease does it? Here is hoping I haven't given the hole of the game away lol.
