Thank you very much! I'm really glad that you liked this story. It was a sudden idea as a reaction to the ending of the original plot. Didn't read all the original comics to be honest, only fragments... and decided to turn the events differently.
Didn't know at first if I should even start this fanfic since I already have another unfinished story about Megatron... but decided to try anyway. It's supposed to be a very long adventure. If my other Transformers fic about Megatron has 3 parts (+ yet imagined prequel and sequel), then here... I don't know how many parts will be. 5 or 6 maybe, something like that.
As for what you described, yes, this could have happened in theory. One of the reasons Megatrnon's still unaware of the situation (for example when Megatron decided to look at his own green spark and almost opened the chestplates, but changed his mind in the very last second and hit the mirror instead, screaming: "Who am I? What am I?").
Later on the Matrix will tell him that for the first time it had to use the image of a once living mecha to communicate with the bearer. All other Primes accepted it knowinly. The sentient artifact found this new experience very interesting along with it's new host.
How Megatron will find out... I guess it will be a moment not a very sutable for self-flagellation. Maybe it will happen when the team meet their main enemy for the first time. Seeing Senator Shockwave again, who became Unicron's avatar, will be a no less shock for some of the crew, including the main character.
The DJD will find out much earlier, when they capture Megatron. Of course they won't truely understand what it is in his chest, since they've never seen the Matrix in person. Megatron will be in stasis and won't find out anything. But the Lost Light crew will save him.
I already have 26 chapters, the 27th is in progress... but can't say for sure when (and maybe even if) the English version of this fanfic will be continued. The same goes to all my fanfics. Sorry, but given all the hate (programmed or not) towards us, Russians, I see no point in doing so. Maybe later... hard to say at this point.
