    THE BACKPACKS ARE RETURNING TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNERS!!!! I DID WONDER IF THAT DETAIL WOULD BE REVISITED AND I AM SO GLAD WE CLEARED THAT UP. Also, Nat would be the one (probably the only one) who would know about the backpacks so she’s the only one who could solve that problem. I’m glad she’s easing her way back to work. I would rather her be coordinating the orphanage than working on missions.
    ““You can stop now,”
    “Stop what?”
    “Being an Avenger. Your ledger is wiped clean.”
    “Wanda,”
    “You died for them. The world doesn’t deserve anymore of you.”
    “Honey,”
    “Do you still feel like you owe it to them all?”
    “No.” Her answer stops me in my tracks. “I still feel horrible for everything I have done. I will never be rid of that guilt. But I think I recompensed.”
    “Then why still do it?” Why still put yourself in danger? Put me at risk of losing my mom again?
    “Because it is the right thing to do.”
    “That is a really good answer and I need a minute to think of a rebuttal.”
    “Perhaps you shouldn’t have tried to get out of debate classes with training all the time.” She tugs on my ponytail, “Should we head back out to everyone?” She stands up, slowly, placing a hand on the heavy wooden desk.” (Chapter 20)

    - Also, can we stop and appreciate that Nat feels like she’s finally wiped her ledger clean? IT’S BEEN ALMOST TWENTY YEARS PEOPLE BUT THE HUMAN HAS FINALLY FORGIVEN HERSELF ENOUGH TO LET HER DEBT GO!!! THERE SHOULD BE PARADES ON THE STREETS!!!
    - Also, Nat, your Gryffindor is showing (she is Hufflepuff with strong Gryffindor leanings. A Gryffinpuff, if you will. fight me)
    “It has been five years since I’ve been home.” (Natasha, Chapter 20)
    - Because it wasn’t home without Wanda so she never went back. This line got me.
    My initial thought when I saw that text message at the end of the chapter was, “STEP DAD WHY ARE YOU TEXTING THEM!!! YOU KNOW THAT NAT SHOULDN’T GO ON ANY MISSIONS AND YOU KNOW SHE HAS ACCESS TO TECHNOLOGY NOW!!!!” Now, I wonder who sent the message. Because I firmly believe Steve has enough grey hairs that he wouldn’t risk Nat knowing about a mission. Galaxy brain is speculating that it’s more a team meeting to figure out where the Avengers stand as well as how they can help with the global fuckball that Bruce left them with.

     

    I do think I overdid it, and I'm not even at the paragraph babble part. But there was a lot going on for 8 chapters, and we haven't seen some of these characters interacting like normal since Kindred, arguably. Enjoy! (Or don't, no pressure)

      Nat kept them in a storage closet no one else would think to look, I'm glad they got returned to their owners as well, a small comfort for all of them. She is going rather slow by Nat standards
      -Thank you, I loved writing this interaction. It felt very normal for them, in a good way
      -She finally feels as though she has made up for her actions. I'm so proud of our girl! She definitely does deserve a parade haha
      -I would agree on a Gryffinpuff, but Hufflepuff would be her house
      -Yes, exactly, she hasn't had it in her to walk through that door. Home is where her little witch is
