That's what I'm saying!! The Amulet was made by Merlin, why would it just suddenly listen to Jim and take Toby?? The whole point was that Jim is the trollhunter/hero with or without the Amulet so where would that leave him as the sidekick?
Anyway, thank you for this! It really helped calm some of my feelings after ROTT <3<3<3
