    This is a fantastic story. The worldbuildung with the magic is so rich, and you wrote Steve as such an interesting character.

      My subconscious is to blame for that worldbuilding. And to be honest, I was surprised by it. It was one of those things where I was vaguely aware that it was cool while I was still dreaming the dream this story is based on, but I thought it wouldn't hold up once I was more awake. But it did! It held up just fine! Which was what pushed me to write it down.

      Also, Steve IS an interesting character. If I wrote him as anything else, it'd be out of character.
