      The creators said the situations weren't canon, so I don't see what anyone is split on, they're just fan service, besides that would make like 3 people from the cast canonical rapists so

        The debate wasn't them being fully canon I think had more to do with characters like Tenko and Rantaro which makes sense honestly fandoms love to argue

          Yeah but I don't understand why people are arguing about it when the creators literally put their word on it, besides at point, I'm not even trying to argue but there's really a point wherein you need to read subtext, Tenko is possibley as much of a stereotypical lesbian as it gets, and whenever I see people say "oh she's bi actually" I genuinely do not think they are good at reading the canon material

            Because death of the author is a thing and applies to a lot of things and headcannons exist. And with regards to the lesbian or Bisexual thing it goes either way depending on the person since one person can read the canon material and come away with something different. Doesn't help that Tenkos thing with cutness and girls comes off differently depending on the culture your from.

              Tenko canonically has a crush on Himiko, it's said in Kaedes free time events with Tenko, and it's said in the manga (although the second one IS dubiously canon) and there are plentyyy of other bi coded characters, I don't know why people won't let lesbians have this one thing. And the idea that Tenko's crushes on women can be "interpreted in different ways" is just horseshit really. They only use her blushing sprite when she is interacting with girls, and show her general revulsion of guys, when asked if she IS gay she gets flustered, I really don't see how this is up to interpretation.

                Eh I don't think it's bullshit and in kaedes FTE doesn't Tenko deny having a crush on himiko though I can check again. And Tenkos revulsion of guys isn't a security thing it's a result of her upbringing and gullibility unfortunately. Honestly whether simeine see's Tenko as Bi coded or Lesbian coded I'm cool with it as long as they're not causing trouble.
