"I know they have two very different but they sort of overlap. It makes me wonder so much if Bruce doesn't have some sort of sensory dysregulation going on (as well as emotional regulation issues)."

Bruce-and-Hulk are two separate people, but joined at the root. Bruce excels at logical-mathematical and linguistic intelligence; Hulk excels at bodily-kinesthetic and emotional intelligence. They both have sensory processing disorder. Hulk usually gets it worse, but Bruce does too. They are especially hypersensitive after a transformation. Sometimes the system glitches very badly due to a reflexive shift (i.e. if someone tries to kill Bruce), and then everything hurts and is horribly confusing so Hulk has a hard time responding mindfully. I really want to find time to write that in action, because the Avengers figure it out fairly quickly and adjust their battle plan to assist Hulk, then take care of him afterwards.

"Then again- he kind of regulates well enough (or at least processes his emotions to a point where he can recognise the emotion and put it aside as not needed/not helpful/ as an emotion linked to past events that may not be applicible even if situations hit triggers."

Well ... sort of. Hulk is the emotional genius, and now that he's with decent people, he is rapidly gaining the skills he missed earlier. So his emotional regulation is growing tremendously. Bruce's is not. Bruce is afraid of strong emotions, a typical response for abused children. He doesn't deal with his emotions. He tries not to have them. The result is that Bruce uses Hulk as an emotional toilet. 0_o This is so not helping.

"Ok fine, I may have also done therapy to deal with my own triggers XD"

Good idea if you can find a suitable therapist. Triggers suuuuuck.

Hmm ... are you into original writing at all? Because I've got another character you might find inspiring. Turq is currently a teenager, recently escaped from mad science torture. And his body keeps tearing itself apart because the teleportation and shapeshifting were not innate but applied by force. So he has a ton of issues, and has finally found some folks who are helping him cope with those. That's in my Officer Pink thread, which also has another kid with (completely different) teleport issues who uses a version of that chat function I mentioned. Turq first comes onstage in "Forgotten to Breathe."

"I rambled. I was mostly coming to say thank you for being the awesome author you are."

It's okay. I'm glad you're finding this so useful.
