So, okay, wait, i'm not 100% i'm interpreting this correctly so I gotta ask--when pap demands sans say his name, does he mean he wants to be called 'boss'? or 'gaster'? because if 'papyrus' wasn't what he was going for, those are the only other options i'm coming up with (and tbh they're both awful in different ways i'm so upset bro ahhhhhhhh) Though since he doesn't think he's anything like his father, I'm leaning more towards the first one?? Also, also, I realise you may wanna leave this up in the air but what did sans say to paps during the 'why don't you—?' bit that made him react the way that he did? (Obvs some sort of comparison to gaster considering his reaction but like,,,, what exactly? if you CAN tell of course hahahah)
And I noticed that the tags say jealous papyrus and,,,.... does that apply to both sections of the fic? present and past? or only one?

Yeah, no it totally was "boss" he was goin for, it just..,okay I have this weird, weird thing with the word "boss" and I dunno if it's just that I find it really silly or what but i just could NOT bring myself to actually use it there. Hahaha I'm sorry it made it so vague.
sans was questioning why pap wasn't more into like actual straight up horizontal tango and papyrus has somehow basically managed to entirely separate what he does and what dear ol g did so he Does Not Appreciate the comparison.
Papyrus is def jealous of g as an adult (although I don't think he'd admit it, I think he considers it more righteous outrage if anything) and as a kid he was kind of too young to really get it, but he knew he didn't like it.
Please don't apologize for asking questions! I sometimes write dumb vague and I have an embarrassing amount of headcanon for something clocking in at under 2,000 words.

LMAOOOOOO Not gonna lie dude, when I first heard about the whole 'Boss' thing I laughed so hard because all I could envision was like some old-ass gangster movie looking Sans going 'Boss' and like,,,,, it seemed so off to me??? Didn't fit right at all tbh But, since then, it's grown on me a lot heheh B') Just takes some getting used to I suppose! And don't worry about vagueness--it works really well with your writing; I just get super curious about details hahaha
OHHHHHHH I SEE. Dang, kinda wanna see what's going through Paps head during all of this. After the first few times they fucked, did he start to regret it? Did it remind him too much of what his father used to do which prompted him to change things up between them? Did he genuinely not enjoy it? Was he worried SANS didn't enjoy it? If he actually doesn't like it, does he continue to do this purely because he likes being in a position of power over his brother? Come to think of it, Sans clearly considers Papyrus his brother but does Paps feel the same? Or does he see him more like an aquaintance (or acquisition) that happens to have grown up with him? (Don't worry about having to answer these btw--I'm mostly just talking aloud hahaha)

Paps definitely has a whole bunch of complicated brain stuff going on, but I DO sorta headcanon the guy as generally asexual, without having any idea that he's asexual, if that makes any sense? None of his thought processes hold up super well to a lot of scrutiny, so he just...sort of doesn't scrutinize it. It's def a power thing tho you are spot on with that one.
I KIND OF WANT TO WRITE SOMETHING FROM PAP'S PERSPECTIVE??? But it would ruin the mystery I suppose. I don't know why I'm getting into his head as much as I am, he was really only supposed to be a vague murky Bad Guy and now...this.
And okay, maybe I'm old and I've just been out of fandom too long, but..,is that literally just a post of my headcanons? I guess I've seen posts like that on tumblr before but I always just assumed

(And in answer to your last question: both. It hasn't really been discussed except vaguely, but Gaster starts off pretty much a normal skeleton when Paps is young, but by using himself as a subject in his experiments he's been getting...melty. As he gets more abstract, so do his thought processes/grasp on any sense of ethics. So initially, it's just real uncomfortable science but uh.............yeah, g def fucks sans eventually. Everything is terrible forever.)

that's probably a good call though, holding off on the pap story for now. I'm sort of still debating how much actual involvement uf!pap is gonna have in the universe-hopping bit of the storyline, but HEY who knows. We haven't actually gotten to plot yet somehow. And there are so very many side stories.
Headcanon posts seem like a much better way of organizing things instead of just filing them away in my junk drawer of a brain lol maybe I should try that

I was mostly thinking botched, drunk teleporting but idk of course I was also wondering if Sans broke his leg upon entering Swapverse or if it happened on his side of things :o So like, anything you decide to write about next is excellent in my books heheheh
