    Thank you for the update!! This story is glorious!!

    First of all, Rune got his name!!! WOO!! 🎉🎉

    The eerieness of Slim's interactions with him versus Comic's in chapter 1 and how alike they are (with the always smiling, impenetrable mask thing) is so stark and makes you question his intentions.

    Also I don't know too much about SwapFell and FellSwap, so it's really cool how the immediate threat level for Ginger and Slim are so different (I felt chills at Slim's interaction). I am assuming the searing violet gaze was maybe Sabre? I reread the first chapter and only the swapfell brothers are described as violet

    Comic feels friendly (his older brother vines are off the chart) but also like Rune's personal judge when faced with food, it's heartbreaking. (The way you describe the food, appealing but dreadful - chef's kiss, HA)

    Also Ace's immediate attempt at checking and Valor basically being his call out post, made me cackle. Don't be rude in front of the new kid, Ace!

    And I love the worldbuilding bits of how souls go in defense mode and while they're in that state you can't check them! Also the first chapter lore bit with starfruit!! And the personal lore tidbits of Rune failing to remember what tea was like, his eye lights going out, and how he forgot about his SOUL, very interesting, hmm.

    Cannot get over how similar the au boys are to each other, script and comic having the same rap-taps, slim and comic's mask, and the unexpected gentleness that we've seen script, blue, and comic all share, it really makes you wonder. I am in awe, this feels like a masterclass for characterization.

    The confusion you get from not only rune, but the other skeletons is magnifique. Like ace not knowing to much about rune and his frustration about that to blue's confusion at rune being sick because secrets are being kept. It feels like a boiling pot in another room, there's so much tension but the apathetic, almost roll-with-it vibe we get from rune is coloring how we see things. For example, the dinner scene was intriguing to me in how very isolating I felt it was for rune, he may feel included by listening him, but it honestly painted the others in a very almost cruel light with how they talked about him and not to him (til the end, when asked his opinion), very suffocating. Another example, all the name suggestions about his amnesia (albeit in a lighthearted, joking manner) only to land on a name meaning forgotten language, well, it felt bitter. The comment about how the collar was a spectacle for everyone else but runes only constant really fueled that for me.

    It really does feel like being the new kid.

    (Also I live for Rune's unintentional sassy monologue:
    "He sounds a lot like Script, if Script was barely coherent and had a smoking habit." Or "fraternal escorts", I'm CACKLING)

    This story is AMAZING and I cannot wait to meet Rune's brother, if any of the other sibling pairs are to be gleaned from, well, Sans did say in the first chapter, there's nothing they wouldn't do to protect their Papyrus, can't wait for Rune's brother to go sicko mode on these fools.

      and to clarify, I'm not using the "canon" swapfell or fellswap, or any of the others for that matter x] some of them are definitely strongly inspired by the originals, but I wanted to put my own spin on them. I'm glad they all come across so different but similar!

        Thank you for the clarification!! I'm super interested in your take on them further in the future will be, it's been really entertaining so far with trying to decipher how they might see the world and how that affects their interactions with rune!! It's really wild, the subtle callbacks or references to each other and how it's utilized differently, your writing is so COOL!!
