    You can really see how depressing this whole harem situation could be for all the members, but especially the emperor, because when he gets close to someone they get killed, and it seems he has to think a lot about how his actions and interest affects the harem hierarchy.

      It certainly is very dull for the emperor, that’s why he hasn’t been overly close to anyone since the last concubine’s death. Well, not until Harry. For the members— they live in luxury and get everything they want. Most of them, not all, use their pregnancies/children as political tools to gain Tom’s favour or get a higher rank. Only few truly care about their children.

        I definitely think the whole harem system should be abolished. It’s a really toxic environment, with all of Tom’s sexual partners/concubines trying to one up each other & even going as far as killing each other and making sure miscarriages happen if one of them gets pregnant. The jealousy runs rampant, and they all think they alone are entitled to Tom’s attention and they shouldn’t have to share it with anyone.

        It’s a toxic environment for all Tom’s children as well, bc most of their mothers/bearers see them as tools to gain Tom’s favour. I think Tom’s kids, and definitely Tom himself, would be happier without the harem.

          The harem gets abolished in the future, not anytime soon but it will happen. It’s toxic place all around.

          It will get better (or worse) for everyone!!!
