This is very original and a little strange, (John and Claire's marriage), but the familia love developing with all of them is really heartwarming. Thanks for writing for us, I appreciate it!!!
This strange event takes place in the seventh book if my memory serves me right. John marries Claire to protect her from being arrested by Richardson. I won't say anything else not to spoil things (I do hope the show writers will include this in the next season. I'd be very disappointed if they didn't!). Otherwise, the Tom Pritchard's explosion (or implosion really) happens in Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade. There are descriptions of John having a panic attack in the following aptly named Lord John and the Haunted Soldier, maybe not enough to diagnose him with PTSD but I think it's a close call. Then, John marries Lady Isobel, settling down as husband and father, he who had made it crystal clear that he had no intention to build a family (since it was his brother's duty to sire a heir and that Hal has three sons). I couldn't help but wonder if a part of him was looking for a rock-solid reason to give his brother to explain why he wouldn't renew his commission. And next thing we know, he's governor of Jamaica. There is a before and an after the Tom Pritchard's explosion for John. Like there is a before and an after Wentworth for Jamie.
