So Kara opinion over millions of people's lives at risk in hospitals so they will continue to be untreated and than there will be an artificial on why humans are like that when really they don't know because kara thought of the WORST outcome instead of all the lives it would save. She could have said extra security measures that deactivates the second it leaves the premises. I hope she feels all the deaths and suffering
I must admit, these kinds of comments are a guilty pleasure of mine. I love the anger.
That being said, Kara has spent her entire life hiding, the mere prospect of a device that could out her and all others with the same predicament is quite fear inducing. Fear is a powerful emotion that leaves our rational thought behind in favour of something more primal. Those who fear being outed would go to extremes to protect themselves. So, within the same logic, those who fear aliens would go to extemities to ensure their own safety as well. The device would, without a doubt, be stolen by those who deem it nessecary for their survival. Exteme security meassures would be quite counterproductive within emergency situations where the device would be needed within an instance.
The device would allow doctors to figure out if their patients are alien with a simple test, instead of during procedures. It could safe time, and thus save lives. But are those few seconds precious enough to warrant the possible outing and demise of all other aliens?
I figured that Lena would follow the same logic within my story, calculating the possible risk as much too extreme compared to the benefit. Though if more opinions were to differ from mine, I would gladly implement this further within the story and see how it goes.
