Kaz and his mother...(thinking of Kaz in canon writing his own creation myth of birth from the harbor, mother is the city) But for me there was a previous family life, a grieving of the loss of a mother, through Da's POV. It was an extra dollop of sadness when the next most important woman in his life, the one he asks to stay, says no. UGH, it gets me every time!
