Comment on The Sins of our Fathers

  1. Hello, miss this fic. Any update on the horizon?

    1. I'm about halfway through the next chapter. Things will speed up when I no longer have football to watch, but I've also had a lot of work.

        1. No, its not at all.

I have a rough idea of how this is going to end, and I don't want to be one of those authors that leaves things unfinished. At the very least I would make some kind of summary of the rest of the plot if I decided to give it up. I was reading an author a year or two ago that had a long story, but decided to stop writing it. They posted most of their notes for the future chapters when they abandoned it, and I really appreciated the closure it gave, even if it wasn't a finished story.

I have other, shorter fic ideas in other universes, and told myself to not start those until I get this finished. So I have motivation, even if the thought nugget that inspired this work has long since been explored in this story.

Put frankly, the Spartans are what keep me moving on this work. Largely because of how underexplored they (especially the women) are in the wider lore. Kelly and Linda have a combined 2 chapters from their POV in the lore, and they have done way too many interesting things to not expand on that.

Its been fun trying to read between the lines and figure out what was going on in their heads during the end of the war.

          1. Linda's third of a chapter in shadow of reach is my favourite part about the entire book. So yeah I totally get you, all I want is more Linda and Kelly. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Fred but give the girls some love. I'm for Fred and Veta any day. I hope we get a reunion for them in the near future.

That's probably why I'm not a big fan of the master chief in the books, he takes upp to much space. Great for the games, not the books.

And I totally understand about the getting closure part. One of my absolute favorite fanfiction is unfinished and is unlikely to get finished. Wrote the author a message and asked if they were going to continue and surprisingly I got a response saying it wasn't abandoned. That was three years ago and no new update sooo yeah.

Funnily enough it's a mass effect fanfic
