Comment on A Clever Plan

  1. It would make things very interesting but I think Bronn was in the Vale because GRRM needed Tyrion alive and knew it would be unbelievable that a Vale native would volunteer to be his champion. If he was anything more, I feel like we'd have seen him make some move by now. BUT it's definitely fun to think about.

Did he even give a reason for being in the Vale in canon? Was kooky Lysa not suspicious? Had he been there because he figured there was good money in hunting mountain clans or something?

    1. I know I have said this before, but GRRM is such a mediocre writer in so many aspects. SO much of his "plot" is a pieced together shit quilt where things happen because.....he needs them to. To say his work is plot driven rather than character driven is the world's biggest understatement. HOW that hack has managed to create so many amazing characters ---chief amongst them our girl Sansa ---is dumbfounding and, I suspect, despite himself.

      1. In a way, the volume of fanfic for his universe validates your point. People want to read stories with these characters, but not necessarily this plot. Obvs a good % of any fanfic base will always be self-indulgent and romance/smut driven, but take that away and you're left with plot divergence or fix-its.

      2. Can we just acknowledge how weird it is that there is one inn (the inn at the crossroads) that everyone ends up meeting at? I have this image of its innkeepers for hundreds of years going all Don Corleone on any competing inns.

        1. It's that Masha and Willow Heddle.....fuck with them at your own peril. It is known.
