Comment on Spoil me, Aniue

  1. This is going to sound funny but I genuinely did not realize how touch-centric my work is! Though thinking on it, part of the reason is that I don't usually write longer multi chapter works (USUALLY. Corazon has possessed me), usually I prefer writing shorter introspective moments, and I LOVE it when I can manage to make my reader feel the emotions as intensely as the characters are feeling them. So that will usually involve reaching out to touch, wanting to touch, pulling away or refusing touch, etc. This made me think a little more on my interpretations of Doffy and Cora and Law and how they each respond to and use touch. I think Doffy uses touch or the threat of touch to intimidate but he only allows touch for a very few special people. Cora I think just lets people touch him, after being in the navy where he's a tool and not a person, he probably doesn't think much about it. But he only initiates touch with those he's close to. Then Law doesn't invite touch or initiate touch, he specifically needs someone like Cora who will basically ignore his boundaries, but once the boundary is down Law will initiate and invite touch whenever possible.
