    So it's the literal "I don't see colour". I suppose souls don't have race, but there is a lot of culture that shapes a person based on their race and how the larger culture treats a person. In reality, in a show that already packed so much into 8 episodes, I imagine they didn't want to deal with more plotlines, and ended up making it slightly more controversial.
