Comment on The Sun’s Glory Bringer

  1. Yeah, I’ve actually compiled a small paragraph of his bouts of strength (might be missing some of them) and a separate one for my favourite as it’s such an incredible show of his strength. I can bore you with them if you’d like.

Also, when you think about it, Zuko was holding back, he could have easily incapacitated Aang. Like, back in episode 2, he kicked Sokka off the gangplank, Zuko could have killed him with that kick.

    1. Please, do share! It’s be a great reference, thank you!!
Very true, I believe he could’ve done lots of damage to the people he fought, but just didn’t.

      1. Alright, well, here’s the stuff I have, there is probably more, I’ll take a look on my next viewing.

Anyway, in Book 1 Chapter 3, Zuko had broke that tea table in half with an upward kick, with a pretty large teapot sitting on it. Then in Chapter 7, before he shattered that thick metal chain with his heel, he kicked with one foot, a large boulder a good distance away, while it was being affected by earthbending.

Chapter 13, he easily hung up three grown men at least 1.5 m (4’11) above the ground, he also swept that one guard off his feet sending him about 1.5 m (4’11) in the air with a bucket, also, he sliced through the chains and manacles Aang was being held by, like that attests to both Zuko’s strength and how well he made his swords.

In Book 3 Chapter 5, with the same heel kick, he broke in half a large thick dining table. In Chapter 15, he broke the gondolas lever in half with a kick. And, the best example of Zuko’s raw strength is in Chapter 5 again, earlier in the episode.

First off, Zuko is much smaller in Book 3 than he was in Book 1, compare The Beach Zuko to when he fought Zhao in The Southern Air Temple, he’s lost significant muscle mass due to his time as a refugee, yet he still shoved a guy, who had a similar structure and was slightly taller than himself across the room. And it wasn't like a full-body shove either, Zuko just brought his hand up and used one hand to shove the guy. The kid went flying, it wasn't like he stumbled back or anything, he was fully airborne not making contact with anything and he went like 7 meters (22 ft).

(I’m pretty sure, if that pot or wall wasn’t there, that kid would have gone much further than that.)

Anyway, in conclusion, Zuko is hands down, one of the most physically capable characters in ATLA, like take away his bending and Dual Dao and he can still break your back with a kick, or cause some pretty severe head trauma, even kill.

        1. This is a really wonderful ‘small’ paragraph! Thank you for sharing it, you helped me measure his strength a lot! Really appreciate you ^^

          1. I’m gonna be honest, it got away from me. It was a small paragraph at first, but I figured that I should specify which book and chapter he did the feat in, then I remembered about the ones he performed in ‘The Blue Spirit’. I really should make a post sometime about all of his accomplishments, not just in strength.
